The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. I remember my mum (a primary school teacher) carrying a very battered copy of this in her bag to and from school. Unfortunately rather than being hardcover as described at time of sale, it was a paperback but it is in good condition .Janet sadly died in 1994, but Allan has gone on to work with other illustrators and is still producing lots of new books.
