About this deal

Putting the Level up to maximum was oddly satisfying, producing a really distant echoing bass, highly reminiscent of a lot of early psychedelia tracks, particularly on bass solos and outros. Incidentally, I also plugged a ukulele through this box, and I have to say that it is some of the greatest fun I have had in some considerable time. I have no use for Shimmer, although I'm sure someone else does (If I were a better pedal steel guitarist, I could imagine using it for an ethereal Daniel Lanois effect), but I can see Room and (especially) Spring coming in handy.

I find for my needs that Decay at 12, Level at 11 and Colour around the 1-2 mark make a nice warm echo without being overbearing. With the Mooer Shimverb you can get everything from convincing surf sounds to modern ambient soundscapes. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The level dial is actually a dry/wet regulator where you can completely kill the dry sound and make some more abstract stuff with just the reverb or a bass guitar.

The Mooer Shim Verb gives you an unprecedented amount of control over your reverb in such a compact space! The original ShimVerb has only three modes: spring, room, and shimmer, which adds a pitch-shifted signal one fifth above the original tone.I even own a few of them myself (including an EHX Holy Grail and a gigantic Fender Vintage Reissue 1963 Reverb unit). Seamlessly merging shimmer and reverb effects, this pedal offers a whole new dimension of sound manipulation. The Mooer ShimVerb features three different types of reverb - Room, Spring and Shimmer - controlled by the Level, Colour and Decay knobs on the unit. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).

I bought this pedal because it was on sale and wanted to see if I could maybe replace my Behringer DR600 since I don't care much for it (don't use most of the modes, and wanted something with a better spring/room reverb). Introducing the Mooer ShimVerb Pro Digital Reverb Pedal, a cutting-edge addition to your pedalboard that's redefining the boundaries of sonic creativity. But the harmonics and tunefulness are not the quality you're going to get with a Strymon blue sky or even the (wonderful) digitech Polara. The shimmer function is assignable to all five of the pedal's reverb types, activated using a separate footswitch, while holding both footswitches allows you to save a preset, too. The reverb settings are really good and the construciton is solid but the shimmer setting is either love or hate. The lower end seems to be unaffected, and levelling for lower registers and playing accordingly seems fine. Legendary musician John Cale (The Velvet Underground) is just one of the many advocates for the Mooer Audio Company.
