About this deal

By far the most important aspect of headphone performance is their frequency response, or how loudly they will play each sound frequency. Good instrument separation keeps the DT 1770 Pro from sounding congested, but it’s definitely an intimate soundstage.

While monitoring/mixing, engineers will frequently boost and tune out certain frequency ranges to better focus on specific parts of a mix.For context i’m not an audio engineer or anything of the sort, i’m using this to mostly listen to music with some gaming as well. Their closed-back design helps deliver more bass than the open-back Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO, but they're more prone to inconsistencies. With the DT 1770 Pro, you’ll receive a Beyerdynamic-branded hardshell carrying case, and even though it’s too large to label it as portable, it should keep your headphones and accessories safe should you find yourself traveling with them. The CS are built well, with plenty of metal, but the DT1770 and DT1990 are in a totally different league. Now, I sincerely have no pro-audio experience, so for this review I’ll only be sharing how the DT 1770 Pro performed in my listening experience, which was for personal enjoyment.

I traditionally would consider myself as being a little “allergic” to the region between 2K-5K, as I can easily find it to be forward or harsh, but on the DT 1770 Pro I felt as though it could actually use 2dB-3dB more in that region. They leak audio across a wide range of frequencies, and if you're listening to loud music somewhere like an office, it will be audible to people sitting nearby. I sound like a press release, I know; but honestly, given all the other headphones I had in house, there was very little competition to these when it came to soundscape. Released in 2016, the DT 1770 Pro serves as the successor to Beyerdynamic’s classic and extremely popular DT 770 Pro. While the calibration erases all the frequency response differences, the sub bass sounds cleaner and more effortless on DT 1770 Pro’s, most likely due to the Tesla driver’s superior distortion performance. The ear cups don't swivel to make them easier to wear around your neck, and they'll take up quite a bit of space in your bag. Constructed using durable, high-quality materials, the DT1770 Pro headphones are designed to offer optimum comfort and longevity.

Yet none of this translates to the real-world listening experience as audible distortion or artefacts.Their sound profile is quite neutral, so it's suitable for a variety of genres and types of content. Embracing the latest, and greatest developments in German engineering and technology, the DT 1770 Pros are so soft you'll forget they're on your head. With superior sound quality, comfort, and convenience, these headphones are an exceptional choice for anyone who values excellent audio reproduction.
